WORKSHOP ON “TEACHING AND LEARNING USING ICT”: 3 FEBRUARY 2022 - DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ICT

The Department of Computer Application of St. Francis de Sales College in collaboration with the ICT team organized Two Days Workshop titled “Teaching and Learning Using ICT” at 1:30pm, on the 3 February 2022. Dr. Doreen Robin, founder and Director computational Intelligence Research Foundation, Chennai and Prof. Bijin Philip, Department of Management, Kristu Jayanthi College Autonomous, Bengaluru were the guest speakers for the workshop.

The speaker - Dr. Doreen Robin said that E-Learning and Critical Thinking is more important along with using Technology. E-Learning facilitates like Introduces Abstract Concepts, Industrial/Technical Inputs through Videos, Hands on Advanced Technological roots, Targets Multiple Intelligence, Face to Face interaction faced with computer aided learning, Innovative Teaching-learning procedures, Real time learning, Improve productivity in class and Formative assessments. In Conclusion he said that Technology does not replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers can be Transformational.

The Second day’s workshop was conducted by Prof. Bijin Philip, Department of Management, Kristu Jayanthi College Autonomous, Bengaluru. He explained the importance of OBS Studio or shortcuts in Teaching Learning Process in the Educational field. He informed and taught how each one can identify which option works best for us if we compare a wider range of products before we decide which one is the best in Teaching Learning Process. The workshop concluded with quiz and feedbacks from the faculties.
