SOCIAL OUTREACH ACTIVITY: 20 SEPTEMBER 2021 – DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS STUDIES
As a part of social outreach activity, the Department of Business Administration had planned for a
virtual career guidance session for the students of an NGO - Dream a Dream. Dream a Dream is a
registered, charitable trust empowering children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds to
overcome adversity and thrive in a fast-changing world. The last 20 years the organization has been
working towards building a world where all children can thrive. The organization works on a strong
collaborative approach with local charities, corporates, volunteers, governments, expert consultants
and a host of national and international strategic partners.
The outreach activity was planned on 20 th September 2021 and 42 students participated in it. The
BBA students spoke about various steps to be followed in career planning. They explained the career
and job opportunities available in various streams such as commerce, science and arts and also
shared their knowledge on Add-on courses available based on the interest of the students. They
covered their insights on self-assessment, career options, career goal. After the presentation on
Career guidance, the participants were asked to put forward their Queries wherein many questions
were put across and the solutions were found.
Conclusion of the programme was that the social contract between NGO and Institution was
strengthened. It enhanced the skills and knowledge of the students from both sides. An awareness
raised in the minds of students about providing service to the needy people. Lastly, students were
given an opportunity to build a strong relationship with outside world.
