On 19th September 2018,Under the guidance of our ANO Lt Sampath Kumar R, As the title “Shramdann” suggests we the NCC Cadets of St Francis De Sales College became the volunteers for Cleaning the Streets, Drains and Alleys of a nearby village Heelalige.

We started the activity from our college, firstly we cleaned our campus and its surroundings. Then we all travelled to the Heelalige Village where we ensured clean public ways through village Wide Street sweeping side walk cleaning, and litter location. Street cleaning also helped us to remove particles and chemicals that gets deposited on road waste through the wear and tear of vehicle parts, combustion and leaking engine fluids, reducing a significant source of pollution.

Cleanliness and appearance of streets, local drain cleaning plays an important in keeping the village neat. After cleaning the streets we moved ahead to clean the drains of the village, the purpose of our drain cleaning was to flush waste water out of the village, making the area prime location for mold and bacteria build-up.

We would like to Thank Our Commanding Officer of 1 KAR BN NCC, Our Principal, Vice Principal and Our ANO Lt Sampath Kumar R for providing us an great opportunity to serve our society by being a part of world’s largest cleanliness drive “ Swachhata Hi Seva”.
