SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR GEN Z ENTREPRENEURS: 16 FEBRUARY 2023 - DEPT OF
PSYCHOLOGY IN ASSOCIATION WITH ASPIRE CELL
The Dept of Psychology PG Centre in Association with ASPIRE Cell, St. Francis De Sales organized
Social Entrepreneurship for Gen Z Entrepreneurs on 16 February 2023 in Post Graduate Building. The
agenda of the session was to helps students understand the emerging areas in which
entrepreneurship is growing. As the current batch of students belong to Gen-Z, the session was an
effort to help them understand how social entrepreneurship can be their way of growing and
working towards a business.
The speaker of the event was Prof. Kumaraswamy N, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Management Studies,
PG Centre, St. Francis De Sales College & Research Scholar, Jain University, Bengaluru. He has
completed his MBA from Regional Institute of Co-operative Management, Bengaluru who has more
than 15 years of Multi Industry Work Experience and at various Academic Institutions. The resource
person explained the importance and meaning of entrepreneurship. The speaker then moved on to
explaining the terminologies used for the different generations and he mentioned that people born
from the year 1997 are considered to be Gen Z.
The speaker then threw light on the significance of social entrepreneurship. Social Entrepreneurship
is a business idea that helps the entrepreneur to just not earn money but at the same time
contribute towards society. Social entrepreneurship has a socially positive impact and is a way to
help the society through innovative business ideas and skills. The speaker then emphasized the
difference between Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Entrepreneurship. The session
created an awareness on the seriousness of life and how the small ideas can be converted into
something that can bring monetary benefit and at the same time also have a positive social impact.
