MENTOR-MENTEE INTERACTION: 9 JUNE 2022 - THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY,
POSTGRADUATE CENTRE
The Department of Psychology, Postgraduate Centre arranged for Mentor-Mentee Interaction on 9 th
June 2022. Mentoring is crucial for monitoring regular growth of students. 10 students participated
in the interaction. Timely interaction with students gives a timely check on their regular activities.
Advice through mentoring can significantly influence and improve research endeavours, well-being
and career development. Positive mentee–mentor relationships are vital for maintaining work–life
balance and success in academics. Mentorship helps to navigate challenges in academic and non-
academic life and career. Specific and personal issues were discussed and suitable suggestions were
given by the mentor. Mentoring has been helping students and also faculty to understand each
other and make teaching-learning process effective.
The students are confused about careers or there might be some other reasons too, providing
mentoring will guide them towards the right path. Mentors not only guide and provide mentees with
knowledge but also tell them their personal experiences which helps mentees understand better.
This helps students in building their perspectives. Mentorship help in personality development for
students, as it makes them confident and clear about their understandings, this results in forming a
strong personality.
