“E-DIGITAL LIBRARY, E-RESOURCES ORIENTATION”: 7 OCTOBER 2021 - LIBRARY COMMITTEE

The SFS Knowledge Centre – Library Committee organized an Orientation Programme on “The Usage of the British Council Digital Library” on 7th October 2021 for all the faculty members of the College. The resource person for the day was Mrs. Megha Kakkar, Head - British Council National Library. 58 faculty members participated in this online meet. The main objective was to promote digital library as a single point library to help build vital learning skills, improve wellbeing and provide world-class entertainment.

The resource person Mrs. Megha Kakkar highlighted that as a member of the British Council Digital library, one will have world class resources at the tip of their fingers, from online study resources to popular eBooks and audio books. And that’s not all: digital membership gives you access to magazines and newspapers, comics and graphics novels from around the world, learning resources to develop your skills. Through this new initiative, the British Council aims to share the joys of reading, learning and culture and enhance the wellbeing of everyone. This free digital library is a fantastic resource and has something for everyone and provides seamless access to information.

Digital library database resources have a significant impact on stimulating the research culture in higher education. The use of digital databases makes it possible to understand intellectual growth, research productivity, planning and identification of user information needs.
