FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON INTEGRATED LEARNING AND NEP 2020: 12 JULY 2021 -
17 JULY 2021- IQAC AND FACULTY ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE OF ST. FRANCIS DE SALES COLLEGE
IN COLLABORATION WITH KARNATAKA STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (KSCST)
The faculty development program was organised by IQAC and faculty enrichment committee of St. Francis
de Sales College, Bangalore in collaboration with Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology
(KSCST). The main objective of the program is to provide an understanding of the NEP 2020 and how to
integrate various important aspects of learning in the curriculum. The need for IP and Research Patenting
was highlighted during the program as it is the need of the hour for promoting research in the institution.
The programme was conducted via google meet started on July 12, 2021 and ended on July 17, 2021 from 2
pm to 4.30 pm on all the days.
It was a prestigious moment for the SFS College as the inauguration of SFS-KSCST – Innovation and IP Cell
took place in association with Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Karnataka. Mr. Hemanth
Kumar, Executive Secretary, KSCST, Karnataka was the chief guest of the day and he spoke on the purpose
and activities KSCST undertakes. The main objective of the session was a Holistic Overview of Intellectual
Property Rights and this was enlightened by three resource persons namely Mr. Vivek Anand Sagar, IP
Attorney and consultant, KSCST, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bangalore, Dr. Sarajisha Padmanabhan
is a Patent agent and Patent Attorney, Bangalore and Mr. Nagarjun, Project Associate, KSCST.
The point of discussion was business advantage, marketing advantage, license and transfer, valuation. All
the session was very interesting and informative. The participated faculty benefitted out of it by gaining
knowledge about Intellectual Property (IP).
