Indo-Global Education Summit 2017 - Report

Indo-Global Education Summit 2017 is one of the most comprehensive educational events of its kind ever held in India. It is one of the biggest networking events for leaders in educational sector around the world. Participants are from top universities around the world for academic collaboration with Indian Universities. It show cases best practices in teaching, learning and training strategies of world renowned Universities. SFS college take part in the Indo-Global Education Summit &Expo 2017 organized by Indus foundation on 24th July 2017 at Lalith Ashok hotel, Bangalore.

This summit provides an opportunity to know various possibilities in Research & development, Faculty - Student Exchange Programme, Twinning Programme and certificate courses in collaboration with various International Universities. Prof. Margaret Francis along with students of BA humanities participated in the Indo-Global Education Summit &Expo 2017 .It provided a platform for knowledge and exposure for the students to identify various educational programs in the global scenario through interaction with International delegates from various countries .

The objective of the summit is to bring about academic collaboration between Indian Universities and Foreign universities. This summit avail Indian students to access best educational opportunities worldwide apart from improving quality of education in India. This year Indo-Global summit explored related fields. Skill development, start ups, and enterpreurship are currently very relevant and popular worldwide including in India.

The Summit &Expo 2017 is specifically designed for Vice Chancellors, Directors, Principals, Provosts, Deans, Dept. Heads, Faculties, Scientists, Researchers, Govt. Officials, Students and others connected with higher education sector.

Major fields covered in the summit are Engineering& Applied Sciences, Information Technology, Business & Managements, Clinical & Health Sciences, Life Science & Biomedicine, Agricultural Sciences& Environment, Education &Technology, Arts& Humanities and Social Sciences. There were one-to-one meetings between representatives of Indian Institutions and those of Foreign Universities for forging academic collaborations.

The Indio-Global summit fosters the research collaboration, promote universal and equitable access to education and develop student’s knowledge, confidence and requisite skill to become lifelong learners and economic competitors in a dynamic market place.

The joint degree programme, collaborative research and projects, twinning and transfer programmes, professional development programmes, faculty exchange programmes and other academic partnership programmes between Indian universities and Foreign Universities are extremely useful in meeting the rapidly growing Indian educational needs. This summit also contributes to the goal of preparing students to compete in the global economy.

The Inaugural program started at 9.15 am The Guest of Honour was Mr. Sameer Shukla, IAS, Managing Director, Karnataka Vocational Training & Skill Development Co-orporation Limited, Bengaluru.

The Academic collaboration Session was there which included Presentations and Panel Discussions. The first session was on Research collaboration, Joint/Duel Degree Programme, Twinning & Transfer Programmes. The second session was on Distance Education & Vocational Education Programmes, Faulty student exchange programmes, Study abroad programmes and other collaborations like Academic –Industry collaborations, Skill development sessions, Start up and entrepreneurship sessions which includes presentations and panel discussions.

The programme was so informative and it opens a door of various options and possibilities in many educational fields and its growing opportunities.
