VIRTUAL SESSION ON HEALTHY EATING HABITS: 13 FEBRUARY 2023 - DEPARTMENT OF
PSYCHOLOGY, POSTGRADUATE CENTRE
A well-balanced diet provides the necessary energy a person needs to be active throughout
the day, needed nutrients for growth and repair, helping one to stay strong and healthy and
helps to prevent illness. Eating healthy food helps people to get the nutrients their bodies
need to stay healthy, active, and strong. A healthy diet will also make the mind happy and
healthy. Keeping this in mind, a session on Healthy eating habits was conducted on 13
February 2023 by the Department of Psychology for the M.Sc. and MA students. The focus
of this session was to boost better eating habits and to enhance the lifestyle of students.
As it was a virtual session students attended from their respective classrooms. Ms. Niharika
gave alternatives for choosing food based on mental state and diet for college students. She
included on how eating junk occasionally is considered fine and the importance of exercising
was discussed. The exercise is about what a person personally loves to do and is not
something to do out of pressure was told. Students loved these points raised by her and many
had questions on the different exercises to be done and food charts based on calories were
asked and all the questions were clarified by Ms. Niharika. It was an interactive session filled
with knowledge and diet options for healthy eating and a sound mind.
