A GUEST LECTURE ON GRATITUDE FOR SUCCESS: 25 OCTOBER 2021 - RESEARCH & IP CELL IN COLLABORATION WITH DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

A Guest Lecture on gratitude for success was organized by Research & IP Cell in Collaboration with Association of Commerce Managerial Excellence (ACME). The session was conducted through Google Meet and 350 students from the Department of Commerce attended the session.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Murugesan is a passionate Professor, Researcher and Mental Health Practitioner from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, heading the department of Psychology in The American College of Madurai and Adjunct Professor in School of Behavioral Sciences and Education at TAU. He is specialized in Psychometric, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology and Education Psychology.

The event started with brief introduction for gratitude- acknowledgment, appreciativeness, grace, gracefulness, gratefulness, praise, recognition, requital, responsiveness, thankfulness. The resource person of the day with his immense knowledge sparkled the light of gratitude in the mind of students and it was indeed a great session. The session was very much useful for the students in understanding and learning about the positive psychology aspects of understanding the importance of being gratitude and how it’s strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
