GUEST LECTURE ON INFINITY PROGRAM: 30 OCTOBER 2021 - RESEARCH AND IP CELL IN COLLABORATION WITH DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (ACME)

Research and IP Cell in collaboration with Department of Commerce (ACME) organized Guest Lecture on infinity program on 30th October 2021. Nearly 210 students of III sem commerce students participated in the program. The objective of conducting the Guest Lecture for students is to understand and to create awareness about the emerging trends in business world and to give the knowledge about latest technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, Robotic process automation, Big Data, Internet of things, Virtual reality and 5G and its importance in various areas of business.

The Resource Person Dr. Senthil Kumar, Department of Professional Studies from Christ started the session with great enthusiasm and the session is an experimental learning based program. He gave brief introduction regarding what is technology, how it works, and what is the need of adopting latest technologies in business and also how adaptation of technologies will reduce the cost and increases the profit level of the company.

He made the students to understand how Business industries are witnessing various changes in the fashion of its working over the time. These changes are referred to as business trends., these New trends in business can be achieved through emerging technologies. Students understood that artificial intelligence is the umbrella term and machine learning is the subset of it. He brought a clear picture that artificial intelligence is used in automating, detecting, understanding, predicting, personalizing. The resource person also spoke about Robotic process automation which is used in interpreting application, processing transactions, dealing with data and even replying to the emails. He narrated and distinguished the business without having adopted to technologies and the businesses being updated to latest technologies. Students also have learnt about the various benefits of using latest technologies into business organization. The session was very lively that resource person gave a real life examples how technology is used in entertainment, education, marketing. After the session the students are enlightened with many emerging trends in business.
