ONE-DAY TREK TO TM HILLS – 12 SEPTEMBER 2021 - KARNATAKA CIVIL DEFENCE (KCD)
On 12th September 2021, Karnataka Civil Defence - KCD wardens of division 50 of St Francis De Sales
College, Hebbagodi had organized a one-day trekking in which 70 wardens actively participated. The
activity was organized under the guidance of the division warden LT. Sampath Kumar R.
The first visit was a trek to an offbeat destination – TM Hills which lies in the Ramanagara district of
Karnataka. The wardens began the climb and, on the way, lies one of Karnataka’s oldest temple
named Bettada Timmaswamy temple. The temple idol is still worshipped by devotees who climb up
all the way to get a glimpse of their idol. The wardens spent some time revering it and then
proceeded with the trek.
It was followed by another trek to the Narayanagiri Hill which was about 10km away from TM hills.
Narayanagiri Hills is a 2.7km moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Ramanagara,
Karnataka, that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking,
walking, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. From the summit, you get a panoramic view
of the surrounding hills, along with forests, villages and the town and it is a sight to behold.
Later on, the KCD wardens organized an awareness program on plastic with the theme - SAY NO TO
PLASTIC. The trek was indeed an ideal one for first time trekkers as well as the seasoned ones.
