Guest lecture on "Science and Technology of Liquid Crystals" – Dept of BSC: Aug 7, 2019 Infinity 2019 - A week of Guest Lectures (Aug 5-10, 2019)

A guest lecture on "Science and Technology of Liquid Crystals" was arranged by the Department of Science on Aug 7, 2019 from 12.30 pm to 2.10 pm in the Auditorium.

Dr. Yelamaggad, Scientist E, Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, Bangalore exposed the concepts and chemistry of liquid crystals to the audience. The demonstration of the concept of birefringence by solids, liquid and liquid crystals made the audience to experience the properties of these states of matter. The faculties and the students really had a very valuable and inspiring time with Dr. Yelamaggad shared his real time research experience with liquid crystals throughout the lecture.

Students of I, III and V sem BSc (MEC & PCM) attended the session. Desalite Ashish Robin Bara, I Sem BSc (MEC) did the MC for the session and Desalite Saranyashree introduced Dr. Yelamaggad. Dr. Yelamaggad was given a floral welcome by Prof. Smrutee Markhedkar, Head, Department of Science at the beginning of the session and felicitated by Dr. Nebula Murukesh, Coordinator, Department of Science at the end of the session.
