INAUGURATION OF STANDARD CLUB: 2 DECEMBER 2022 – DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) , the National Standard Body of India
established under the BIS Act 2016 works for the nation to create
standardization in the Nation through its process of marking and certifying
goods. The BIS mark has become synonymous with the best quality offered and
it supports national development through standardization, certification, and
testing. As students are the future of the nation they need to be moulded in the
right direction. At St. Francis de Sales College, one of our missions is to
inculcate cultural and moral values towards the transformation of
learning into positive behaviour of students.
The inaugural session started at 11.30am, in the closed auditorium. Rev Dr.
Roy, the principal, Rev. Fr. Jijo, the vice principal, MR. D M Srinivas, Deputy
Director & Scientist-C- BIS Bangalore, Shivangi Rai, Standards Promotion
Officer BIS. Bangalore and Prof. Annie Christilla, the academic coordinator
–UG were attended the session. The inaugural address was given by Rev. Dr.
Roy. The standard club was formally inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries
along with standard club mentor and the 200 student representatives of the club.
With the inauguration of the Standards Club in our institution, we try to
inculcate in our students Quality consciousness, based on standardization
through a variety of activities. The teachers too have an important role and
would serve as beacons of light, guiding and motivating students to channel
their creativity and enhance their scientific temperament.
