FRESHERS BRIDGE COURSE: 7 OCTOBER TO 9 OCTOBER 2021 – DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE IN ASSOCIATION WITH ACME
Bridge Course helps students to have a smooth transition towards the next step in their higher
education. The bridge course was conducted for the first-year commerce students from 7 th – 9 th
October 2021 by the Department of Commerce. On the first day, the Head of the department, Prof.
Jeseentha Mathew and the Department Co-ordinator Prof. Chitra welcomed all the first year
students.
A bridge course for newly admitted students is conducted every year before the commencement of
the first semester classes. The syllabus for the course is framed in such a way that they get basic
mathematics, accounts knowledge on the subjects. The college rules and regulations are explained.
Staff instructed the dress code of St. Francis de Sales and delineated the prohibition of mobile usage
in the college campus.
During this bridge course faculty member explained the scope of B. Com and explained the available
opportunities after finished their B.com degree. In this session the faculties members explained
about New Education Policy to the student as they have to write the external exam only for 60
marks and internal exam for 40 marks. The session was very helpful and enlightening for students to
understand about the course.
