World Animal Welfare Day Awareness Programme - Oct 4, 2018

On 4th October 2018, the NCC cadets organised an Animal Awareness Program on the occasion of World Animal Welfare Day.

The guest of the day was Mr Mohan K, Divisional Warden of Hennur Police Station limits and is also a wildlife rescuer. He is also a volunteer at QART- Quick Animal Rescue Team. All the cadets took active participation in this awareness program, Mr Mohan started the session with his PowerPoint presentation on Animal safety and about snakes. This session was a very informative and educated the cadets about the Mission of World Animal day: to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals.

This day is celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.
