VIRTUAL INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO INFOSYS, MYSORE: 14 DECEMBER 2021 - CYBER
SPIRITS ASSOCIATION (DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS)
Department of Computer Applications organised virtual visit to Infosys Campus virtual tour for
the final year students of BCA & B.Sc (MEC & CJP). In this pandemic era to connect across the
world seems too easier witnessing the technological advances and because of that our students
were able to participate in the virtual industrial visit.
The resource persons for the event are Ms. Suja, HRD, Infosys, working with Diversity and
Inclusion team and Mr. Sundar, Associate Vice President and works for Education Training and
Assessment department at Global Education Center, Infosys, Mysore who has more than 26
years of experience in IT and Education and is associated with Infosys for 22 years. At present he
is pursuing his research on Big data area at VTU (Vishveshwaraiah Technology University),
Belagauvi, Karnataka.
“Good things come to people who wait, but better things come to those who go out & get
them”. Ms. Suja gave an insight of how a software industry is and what are the challenges that
we would come across while you look out for career opportunities. She gave a deep insight on
idea generation and shared her experiences Mr. Sundar highlighted his speech on “How
Technology can leverage learning experience, career options and way forward/Infosys
Springboard”. He also added that there is "no substitute to hard work & no shortcut to success".
Virtual Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a
professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum and these virtual will bridge
the gap between theoretical training and practical learning in a real-life environment. Students
had a thoughtful session on design thinking approach and be a problem finder than a solver.
This interaction gave the students an exposure to current work practices.
