Tree Plantation Pakwada - An awareness to protect the environment by the NCC – July 12, 2020

75 NCC cadets participated in "Tree Plantation Pakwada" activity on July 12, 2020 under the guidance of Lt Sampath Kumar R, the ANO. The activity was performed by the cadets who came together through virtual platforms. They performed individually at their houses due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

As part of the programme, each of the cadets planted tree saplings at their respective home surroundings. Cadets were made aware of the aim of having this activity and shared the responsibility of promoting a better environment. The need to save the environment was emphasised and along with the need to have an ecological balance.

This tree plantation drive was organized in order to sensitize the NCC Cadets towards the need to preserve our environment and ecology. This also encouraged the cadets to continue this work even in the future. It also motivated family members of the Cadets.

The NCC Cadets deemed it very necessary, in this time, in particular, to grow as much as trees possible as it increases oxygen level in the environment. There was a discussion and initiative to make our surroundings greener. Planting a tree is a lifelong investment. How well this investment grows, depends on the selection of the type of tree, the planting location, the care provided during planting, and the follow-up after planting.
