SKILL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY - STRESS MANAGEMENT
As a part of skill development activity, the Department of computer science had organized an
online session on Stress management for final year students on 29th of january 2021.
Students undergo stress usually when they have to build their career, to make the students
understand how thoughts affect our behavior and emotion this session was initiated. The
resource person of the event was Fr. Dominic Anthuvan, SMA, MSc Psychology.
70 students had participated in the session through Zoom platform. During the session the
signs of stress were identified and the animator presented the common stressors or common
causes of stress especially among students or among adolescents. Various psychological,
emotional and social causes of stress are experienced and are to be managed by the students
or adolescents during their stage of formation.
Through Cognitive Therapy the ABC (Awareness, Balance and Control) strategy was
introduced to the participants as a way of managing stress. Students were able to understand
the method of re-framing, positive thinking and assertive training as a way to manage stress
