ONLINE INFINITY GUEST LECTURE
3 DAYS SEMINAR
St. Francis de Sales College, Department of Computer Science and Applications is
focused on quality teaching. Teaching is not only from the syllabus and textbooks, it’s all about
practical learning like workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, educational trips,
computer gaming, mathematics logical reasoning and collaborative practices like tally courses,
NCC, NSS and so on. These practices are followed under the association Cyber Spirits.
3 days seminar was held from 11the Feb 2021 to 13 th Feb 2021 on “Artificial
Intelligence”. The resource persons of the event for different days were:
DAY 1: Dr. Mahalakshmi S.B, Assistant professor. PG dept. of CS/IT, Shri Ramakrishna
college of arts and science Coimbatore.
The guest speaker has 10 years of teaching experience and 2yrs of industrial experience. In her talk she
emphasized what is artificial intelligence, the uses of artificial intelligence, its architecture and
applications in real life with relevant examples.
DAY 2: Dr. K. Kalaiselvi, Assistant Professor, Computer Science, Kristu Jayanti College,
Bangalore.
She spoke on “AI at a glance” and gave hands-on experience in the use of AI using an android phone and
highlighted the scope of the topics, its applications, future impact and spoke about several courses and job
opportunities in that area.
DAY 3: Dr. R. Nismon Rio, Assistant Professor, Computer Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be
University).
The guest speaker focused on cryptography and explained about the block chain. He made the students
understand that by design, a blockchain is resistant to modification of the data.
The lecture was excellent and was organized into a slide showing methodical divisions in the AI
area, such as the technical spectrum, the marketing issues on AI and so on. The presentation contained
several videos which caught the attention of the students and made it very effective.
