ANTI-TERRORISM DAY: MAY 21, 2021 - POLITIEA- POLITICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION
21 st May is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day all over India to promote awareness and to avoid youth
from participating in terror activities. Anti-Terrorism Day commemorates the death anniversary of
former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. This day is observed to spread the message of peace,
harmony, and humankind and to promote unity among the people.
Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations poses a direct threat to the security of the citizens of
countries, and to international stability and prosperity. It is a persistent global threat that knows no
border, nationality or religion and is a challenge that the international community must tackle
together. The Politeia- Political Science Association in association with the Department of
Humanities organised the event - Pledge Taking on May 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM through G-meet. After
briefing on the importance of observing the Anti-Terrorism Day, the event concluded with the
students taking pledge to disdain from all forms of terrorism activities.
