Desalite Football Club

In line with the other football clubs SFS College formed the Desalite Football Club for both men and women on 01st May 2016.
Desalite FC is committed to encourage and foster men and women of discipline who desire to play football for the college as well as to rise up to national and international sports participation.
SFS College conducted its maiden DFC – cup for women on 01st May 2016 to mark the inauguration of the club as well as the National tournament which would be an annual summer feature.
Two girls’ football Teams from Chennai, two teams from Maya 4 women from Bangalore city and a Desalite women football team played their league matches for the whole day.
DFC Cup was inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Herold Christopher, the principal and the author of Desalite FC, at 11.20 a.m. with his address to the league teams saying, “St. Francis de Sales, the patron of the college, was a sports man himself.
And this DFC Cup should bring the best football players together to showcase their talents that would foster sportsmanship in every human being.
This DFC Cup must encourage women to empower themselves so as to rise to the level of playing at AFC – Asian football Cup and FIFA.” With these words of encouragement the tournament kicked off.
Mr Mohan R, the football coach of SFS College as well as the organiser of the event took league matches with the help of Mr. Abhishek, a Desalite alumni.
The tournament was well appreciated though the league was played in scorching sun.
this tournament was 5 a side tournament for women. Dass FC, team – A emerged as the champions where as Dass FC, team – B emerged as runners up.
Miss. Patricia of DFC was declared best player of the tournament.
Miss. Aloka D’Souza of Maya 4 women bagged the ‘emerging player’ award.
