TREKKING REPORT

On 18th September 2016, our NCC cadets and KCD wardens had gone for trekking to Shivagange Hills’ ‘ near Tumkur District. This hill is also known as “Dakshina Kasi”. This is one of the holiest and biggest hills in Karnataka. We were accompanied by our ANO Lt.Sampath Kumar, JCO Subedar Madhan and College staff prof. Karibasavana Gowda.

101 NCC cadets participated actively in this activity. We climbed about 6 Kilometers to the top of the hill. We reached the top of the hill and enjoyed the environment, Meditated for few minutes and had photo session. Then we trekked down the hill. On the way down we visited “Giri Gangadeshwara Temple” and also “Olakal Thirtha” where we find Holi water in a small spring. Then we picked up the plastic from the surrounding places to keep the Holi place a plastic free zone (Swatch Bharath in Action) . We gave awareness about environment to the people near the village down the hill.

Over all the trekking was great success. We thank our Principal, Commanding Officer, ANO, PI staff and college staff for helping us to complete this activity successfully and safely.
