Desalites @ National Conference in T John College: 14th June 2016

16 Desalites along with three Lecturers from St. Francis de Sales College attended the National Conference on " Innovation for Growth, sustainability, inclusion and Preservation". Transport facility for the Desalites was arranged by SFS College. This was to encourage students/ Desalites to attend National and International Conferences in order to give more stress on academics and research works. Fr. Dr. Herold Christopher, the principal of SFS College, was the chief guest for the valedictory function in the evening. He addressed the gathering in the following words, " The word 'Innovation' itself is an innovative word that always processes forward movement. It never denotes a down fall, rather builds up everything for preservation and to sustain. I am sure the day was filled with innovative paper presentations and sustainable suggestions. In today’s world everyone wants to be innovative, especially the younger generation. The difference between those who are innovative and those who want to prove that they are innovative can be compared to the following: Those who are innovative can be compared to a person who lets the country chicken lose and runs after it and catches it. Those who want to prove that they are innovative can be compared to the one who lets the broiler chicken lose and in few minutes catches it and then displays it in FB, WhatsApp, twitter and all that wires can offer.

When we let our mind run wild and try to control that would be the moment where innovative ideas flow like a river and those innovative ideas would surely sustain and preserve the growth. Of recent I got an innovative idea therefore I called to my office five of engineers known to me and told them to work on a machine which can convert sound into energy (sound energy). I gave them this example – say four people are traveling by a car which can be fuelled by sound energy. Every time the members in the car talk, laugh, quarrel or sing the machine picks up the sound and converts into energy thus making the vehicle run. The more noise the more the milage, the louder the singing the more the speed, the more fierce in quarrel the better the fuel. They were amused by the idea and may be one day they will get to the roots of it. The world is now into using whatever is considered waste such as recycling of waste things. We can surely think of making sustainable use of sound pollution, air pollution, light pollution and so on. Remember dear friends, man from the beginning has been innovative to sustain himself. Some innovative works were detrimental to human existence and some sustained humanity. I am sure this National conference was of the second nature. May God go with us. Thank you."
