INDO - AMERICAN EDUCATION SUMMIT 2016

The INDO-AMERICAN Summit 2016 was organised by Indus foundation on 23rd September 2016 at Chancery Påvillion, Residency Road, Bangalore for focusing on Academic collaboration between American Universities and Indian Universities.

SFS college was represented by the Principal Rev. Dr Herold Christopher and Prof. Margaret Francis from the department of Humanities. This was a great occasion to develop an extensive contact with a wide array of reputable foreign Universities.

The top Universities who participated the Summit include The University of Tokyo (Japan), University of Quebec(Canada), Washville film Institute (USA), Emily University (USA), University of Texas Health Centre (USA) , Sultan Qaboos University (Oman).

There were Sessions on Academic collaboration in which foreign Universities presented their key areas of academic programme and the description of various courses offered by them. The major focus was on Academic collaboration , faculty student exchange programme and research collaboration.

During the one-to-one meetings, the Principal Rev Dr. Herold Christopher and Prof. Margaret Francis met with the foreign University delegates and enquired about the provision for Academic collaborations like twinning programme, research collaboration and faculty exchange programme.

Collaborative certification courses is one of the opportunity where SFS can tie up with many foreign Universities and to get provision for faculty exchange programmes with leading Universities in abroad. The tie up with foreign Universities will enhance our SFS college name and fame in the global scenario and to provide a globalised educational opportunities to stand our college to compete with other colleges and universities in India.

Aim& Objectives of SFS for attending INDO-AMERICAN EDUCATION SUBMIT Aim:

To achieve educational and research excellence in a globalised perspective through academic collaboration with foreign Universities in the area of higher education, research and development Objectives :
• To network with various foreign Universities for higher education and research collaboration

• To familiarise various courses and programmes offered by different foreign Universities and to adapt innovative practices of teaching and learning.

• To find out the possibilities of initiating new certification courses in collaboration with foreign Universities.

• To identify the scope of faculty exchange programmes with leading Universities in abroad

• To know about joint /dual degree programmes offered by various Universities in abroad and it’s scope in Indian context .

• To enhance academic collaboration twinning and transfer programme with foreign Universities

INDO-AMERICAN education Summit 2016 is a unique event which is organised in India as a sequel to the high educational submit, which had sessions on collaborative research programmes, joint /dual degree programmes, twinning and transfer programme, study abroad India programmes, distance education programmes, vocational education programme and other academic partnerships. There were separate sessions for student recruitment and higher education counselling.

The major fields of education sector covered in INDO-AMERICAN Summit are Engineering & Applied Science, Information Technology, Business & Management, Clinical & Health Science, Life Sciences & Biomedicine, Agricultural Science & Environment, Education & Technology, Art & Humanities and Social Sciences. There were one to one meetings between representatives of Indian Institutions and those of foreign Universities for seeing academic collaborations.
