Lodging of compliant by the affected
Every bonafide students of SFS College shall have a safe environment of study without fear of ragging and the college assures prompt action against any such wrong doings. It shall be the duty of every student to report on any act of abetment of ragging however small it may be to assist the authorities to maintain a ragging free campus environment. Willful non-reporting of awareness of ragging incidence is also punishable.

Any student affected by or subjected to ragging must lodge a written complaints in person to the Director of student affairs [the Vice Principal in the college], within three working days of the incident duly citing the date, time and place of the incident, name and details of the student/s involved and the nature/act of ragging. Where the affected students is not able to be present in person to present the complaint for any reason, it may be lodged by the parents. The Director of student's affairs will refer the matter to the Anti Ragging Squad for investigation and appropriate action.

Administrative Authorities
The Anti Ragging Committee shall be headed by the Principle and shall include the Vice Principle, the students Councilor, and three others from the teaching faculty and one parent.

CENTRE FOR CAREER GUIDANCE / PLACEMENT
Career Guidance and placement: SFS College provides career guidance and placement facilities to undergergraduate students. The office helps the students assess their career interest with aptitude and offers them an opportunity to meet and be interviewed by some of the prestigious firms in the state and the country. It organizes mock interviews, workshops, seminars and group discussions on relevant topic. Campus recruitment is held from November to May of every academic year. Usually, the process begins with a pre-placement talk which gives students an insight about the company and the job they have to offer and followed by the selection process.

Note: Students can avail the service of the placement centre by registering for the same.

Counseling Center:
The counseling center with Professional counselor is available for all Desalites in the holistic development of their personality. The counseling centre facilities the development of remedial systems for students whose inadequate motivational factors have kept them away from achieving their potential. Students can approach the counselor for solace with any problems. The centre also concentrates on students who do not perform well in their exams and are irregular for classes.

The center aims at helping students to make proper adjustment for improved academic pursuit and qualities for improved academic pursuit and quality of life.
The counselors motivate and support the students to regularly attend the classes and to prepare for the exams systematically.
The services offered are voluntary for students.

    • Centre for Social Action(CSA), inclusive of NSS, Mission – 5 of SFS College is a ‘Students’ Movement for a humane and just society where student communities are sensitized on various issues affecting the poor and the marginalized sections of the society. CSA at SFS College works towards promoting social responsibility values among the student community. With the support of volunteers, faculty and the management, CSA is strongly engaged in addressing various societal issues.

    • Flair press, was initiated with its humble beginning with its aim to sensitize the scope of ever booming media role in the present society and sow the seed of freedom of expression and every individual's say in democracy and its bigger head free press.

      Looking back down the lane from its initial millstones, flair press has indeed equipped its members with every flair of a journalist. The department, at present has every reason to be proud not only of its proud testimony as the first formed department of the college but also of its achievements both in the journalistic field and its contribution towards the college. It acts as the launch pad for the budding scribes and pressmen and giving a firsthand touch to the field and carrying off the biggest image of democracy with its focus on service and excellence.

      Flair press, transcending the narrowly thought idea of education is a nurturing ground, a beacon of excellence aftermath its textual session. A platform where its members explore more into the field through its practical aspects, truly beyond curriculum.

      Far from the past, as now where the flair press stands, its achievements are immense. The association at present has its practice journal named THE DESALITE updating the college of its various activities and events. Here, the students are its reporters as well as the editors. A campus radio programme under its banner RADIO FLAIR is being broadcasted every Thursday with news, views and music. It has also a newly started wall journal ËœFLAIR NEWS updating the college with current news and events. Broadly, herd mentality is absent as the department is divided into sections of departments within, such as news letter department, electronic media department which comprise of radio, documentary, short film, poster department, department of wall journal and creative department. Flair press has also to its credit two documentaries based on the theme of global warming and terrorism and also a short film titled ËœBlossoms in the Dust

    • This fast-changing techno-savvy world necessitates high-tech competency in communication in the one and only international language of World Wide Web English. To enhance core competencies in the language, Chaucer the Father of English Literature, more importantly the author of Canterbury Tales, was chosen as the model for our budding professionals be it the would-be media moguls, the Brain Sizzlers, or the Polemic Verbose(ers), and above all, the would-be leaders in managerial domain and entrepreneurial spectrum. Notwithstanding the language barrier rural students faced initially, Chaucer's Academy stepped in to boost their confidence level with the new impetus of advanced language training.

  • Students' Council
    • Student Council is an elected body of student representatives to promote democratic way of functionality being taught to them. It is a support system for holistic development of all Desalites and will work in liaison with the General Administration and respective dedicated Centers/Departments of the College.

      Objectives:
      • To imbibe and inculcate among Desalites the vision, mission and core values of the College.
      • To provide constructive feedback on various aspects of campus life, academic programs, general discipline, library facilities, maintenance of the campus and other student service facilities.

    • The Women’s cell at SFS College acts as a platform to interact with women who work for the empowerment of women, as well as to deal with any atrocities against women if in case it happens in the context of the college. The cell organizes programs like Mock Press, debates etc. from time to time, to instill awareness in the minds of students about gender equality and the beauty of peaceful co-existence.

      National Service Scheme at SFS College is sponsored by Government of Karnataka through the leadership of Bangalore University, is a noble experiment in academic expansion. It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work among the students and staff through sustained community interaction. NSS Unit of SFS College was started in 2007, volunteers involve actively in both special camps and regular activities.
