Bicycle Rally by the NCC Association on Nov 24th, 2019.

On 24th Nov 2019, a Bicycle rally was conducted by NCC wing of St Francis De Sales Degree College as part of their “NCC DAY “celebration. The NCC day celebrations were based on the theme ‘NCC activities ‘. The rally was designed to start from the College move towards Ananth Nagar, circle back to the College campus by Kammasandra, Hebbagodi and end there. A total of 90 NCC Cadets took part in this rally.

The objective of this ride was to fuel an interest in cycling among cadets and people alike and to create consciousness about NCC among common people. The main officers for this rally was Lt. Sampath Kumar R – ANO, Mr. Sundar Rajan D - PI staff CHM and Mr. Sanjay Kumar – PI staff HAV. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Roy Plathottathil flagged off the “Bicycle Rally”. The Officers along with the cadets stared the rally which was for 5 kms. They made their way through the College gates and went on to their right onto the Ananth Nagar road. The importance of this was to educate people NCC, its mission. The work they do for others, the kind of services done in the past months and so on and so forth. One of the best things about cycling is that it’s perfect for exercising. The students felt incredibly liberated and let us not forget it’s environmentally friendly. They crossed onto the Kammasandra road and from there made their way to the College delighted in spending class hours outside.

At the end of the rally, refreshments were served to cool the Cadets. The NCC plans to continue to conduct these sessions with the cadets over the years to come. They thanked Col. H R Sunil, AO of 1KAR BN NCC, Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Roy and Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Jijo for their constant support and guidance.
