12th Annual Convocation ​

12th Annual Convocation of St. Francis DeSales college Electronic city Bangalore.
St. Francis De Sales College 12th Annual Convocation was held on Monday 23rd of April 2018. The venue was at La Cassia Hotel, Hosur Road, Banglore.
The Chief Guest for the convocation was Col. Chandrasekhar S.M., Group Commander ,NCC, group A.
Fr. Saji, SFS PU College Principal and Fr. Johnson, SFS ICSE School Principal were also graced the occasion with their presence as other dignitaries for the convocation ceremony.
In the 12 annual convocation there were many other dignitaries from the academic world and industrial sector as well. Apart from the Principal and Vice Principal, other members of SFS Educational Institutions were also attended the programme.
This year a total of 287students from degree courses including SFS evening college. 179 students from B.Com, 25students from BCA,8 students from B.Sc, 35 students from BA and 5 students from B. Com Evening College were graduated in the year 2018.
The convocation began with a prayer song and followed by that the formal function of graduation ceremony was conducted.
Principal Dr. Christopher Crasta, in his report touched upon the infrastructure development in the campus and highlighted the added facilities which are included for the institutional developments. He emphasized various achievements of SFS students on different field including educational excellence, prestigious place in NCC, Sports in the national level. He also pointed out the new degree courses like B.Sc. Chemistry and Physics started this year in SFS college with many students. The successful starting of Science degree courses in the campus was initiated with adequate number of students. Principal also focused on students’ progress in this academic year. This year more number of students were graduated and the courses were academically oriented and industrially focussed curriculum, which intern improve the placement opportunities.
Principal highlighted number of research conference (National & International) conducted this year, which enrich students knowledge and innovation in the emerging field. He also touched upon other salient development including publications, collaboration with foreign universities and other leading industries. The collaborative research, distinguished visiting faculties from various countries added a stepping stone for the globalised educational strategies.
Principal gave a message to the desalites as “Life is full of opportunities to those who grab them while being awake and alert. Remember to remember God and His grace all your lives. Remember to remember the values you have learnt in the institution. Remember to remember to value your parents and teachers that gave you life. Be a true human and a true DeSalite”.
The graduates were awarded their certificates by Col.Chandrashekar S.M , Dr. Helrald Cristopher principal and Fr. Jijo Jose Vice Principal of SFS College.
The students and audience were enthralled by the inspirational speech of the chief guest Col.S.M. Chandrashekar. As a technocraft and soldier, the chief guest appreciated all the graduates and pointed out that perceptional changes of the current generation compared with the previous generation in terms of their approach toward life and other responsibilities. He also emphasized the changes of the country over a period of time, especially focusing on technology, production and economy. The chief guest specifically focussed on the demand for the Human resources in various fields. He encourages the students by pointing out that survival depends upon skill , which we need to learn and master it. Students need to learn and upgrade, enhance and influence their skill. They need to polish their life and set their abilities and utilise it. He also pointed out the various opportunities available in the current scenario for the new graduated students. He inspired the graduate students and faculty of the intuition through his enlightened speech.
During the convocation ceremony the Alumnae directory was released. The News letter of NCC was also released in the same occasion.
NCC students from SFS college were honoured with the prestigious awards for those who attended Republic Day celebration of the Nation.NCC credet who is the gold medallist in shooting and the credet who selected for AIR force training were also honoured in the ceremony. Col. Chandrasekhar S.M. was appreciated the efforts taken by SFS college NCC team to place the college name in the top list of Bangalore NCC while appreciating the NCC credets who won the award.
The convocation ended with a vote of thanks by the faculty member of the college, followed by the National anthem.
